I'd just got home from an exhausting day of work from the studio. Inspiration was beginning to get dry and I wasn't in the mood for any bullshit. Knowing that I had made plans with a certain girl and thinking about how badly I'd be in the doghouse if I cancelled I stared blankly at a computer screen dumb-founded for at least 10mins. (Pop sounds) It was an i.m. that couldve possibly saved my life. Me being myself and keeping the company I keep, I have a knack for attracting people who are only interested in that new shit. My friend Anthony, excited, I guess, asked "Have you heard Lupe Fiasco's new band 'Japanese Cartoon' ?" Of course the answer was a blunt "No". At that second my life was changed, he put the link there, I clicked it and I stepped into Japan.

Basically it's a story. Stories are sort of what Lupe is known for if you follow his music. Eccentric in all stretches and so different from this American over-saturated stream of sound. A track that I'd like to recommend, titled "Army" is about a girl in uniform possibly on a mission to kill "Luvector" (Lupe's band acknowledgement) from the way he coos "Youre so pretty in your camoflauge" the world may never know. But that's incorrect, oil spills, warfare, etc. are his topics because Lupe Fiasco always throws in that special political dinner conversation as I like to call it.
